Damflask Reservoir

Damflask is located to the west of Sheffield in Loxley Valley, near Lower Bradfield, named after the village which washed away in the Great Sheffield Flood in 1864. This little gem of a Dam has been one of our favourite walks during the pandemic. We’ve clocked this walk at 3.6 miles on Strava. There’s a path that snakes around the dam which is fairly flat and accessible for people of all ages and abilities with fantastic views of the dam and the surrounding countryside. While most of the walk is off-road there is a small segment where you’ll need to walk on the roadside.

With a 20-minute drive from Sheffield City Centre and plenty of on-street parking, it’s an ideal location for some timeout, whether it be a stroll or a day out relaxing with a picnic I’m sure you’ll find plenty to see and do.

Home to The Sheffield Rowing Club which runs various activities throughout the year and caters to people new to the sport with taster evenings in the Spring if you fancy having a go yourself!
