This park up is located on the A47 near Acle and is about 9 miles from Great Yarmouth. It’s a great overnight base for people who are planning on visiting the Norfolk Broads.
The layby is set back from the road, and there are trees and bushes between the road and the layby. This helps reduce the amount of traffic that can be heard from the road during the day, but the noise quietened down by late evening and we had a good night’s sleep without the traffic noise waking us.
The area felt safe with views of the fields beyond it. However, after the sun had set, it became apparent that this was the local dogging or cruising site, with plenty of cars coming and going and other nocturnal activity in the early evening, while it was clear what was going off we didn’t have anyone approach the van.
If you’ve driven a fair distance and you’re just looking for a place to bed down for the night, and you aren’t phased by the other nocturnal use of the layby, then this ideally located park up to start your adventure in Norfolk from.
