Just on the outskirts of Cleethorpes, one of the most popular seaside towns on the East Coast, this park-up is the perfect stay if you are visiting for the weekend or just looking to get your head down for the night.
Located at the end of Meridian Road you’ll find a car park that is enjoyed by the van-life community, tucked away behind what used to be Pleasure Island Theme Park. This location is fantastic and close to all local attractions and amenities, which are just a few minutes walk away such as boating lake, where you can hire a boat or feed the ducks, theres a small outdoor pool area to keep the little ones entertained on hot days, the leisure centre and mini train are all close by and just a further few minutes of walking and you’re right on the beach. An added bonus of this park up is that it’s right on the beach so you’ve got amazing sea views out towards Spurn Point. We spent a couple of nights here and can see why fellow van-lifers love it so much.
The car park is tarmacked and is reasonably level with plenty of space. It is a very popular spot with its own regular crowd of people staying there and as such is rather lively in the evening, but it quietened down by midnight. The regulars there are friendly and invited us over for drinks and we had conversations with others who were curious about our drone. As this is just a car park there are no facilities available so if you are looking to stop over you need to be fully self-contained.
About a 30-minute walk directly into the centre of Cleethorpes along the seafront its an ideal place to set up for the weekend.
