A New Year’s Adventure in Scotland: Exploring Edinburgh, Inverness, and Beyond

As the new year approached, we were excited to embark on a 4 day trip to Scotland. We started off by making a pitstop to visit the Angel of the North on our way up. The towering steel sculpture was a breathtaking sight and definitely worth the detour.

Upon arriving in Edinburgh, we spent the next two nights in the city. On the first day, we made our way to Edinburgh Castle, which was absolutely stunning. The history of the castle was fascinating and the views from the castle walls were breathtaking. Afterwards, we strolled through the Christmas markets, which were full of festive stalls selling handmade crafts and delicious food.

The next day, we started our day off with a hearty breakfast at Wetherspoons before setting off to explore the city centre. We walked around the bustling streets, popping into various shops and cafes along the way. One of the highlights of the day was visiting Calton Hill, which offered stunning views of the city.

On the third day, we traveled up to Inverness in search of the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Although we didn’t spot Nessie, the drive up to Inverness was breathtaking, with rolling hills and stunning landscapes.

Our final stop on the trip was the Falls of Foyers and Urquhart Castle. The falls were a sight to behold, with the water cascading down the rocks and the mist rising up into the air. Urquhart Castle was also impressive, with its rich history and stunning views over the loch.

Overall, our 4 day trip to Scotland was a fantastic way to ring in the new year. From the Angel of the North to the Falls of Foyers, we saw so many beautiful sights and had a great time exploring. I would highly recommend a trip to Scotland to anyone looking to experience the beauty and culture of this amazing country.
